Safety & Health Tips for Pilgrims
Share
Performing Umrah or Hajj is a deeply spiritual journey, but it's important to care for your body while nourishing your soul. Here are essential tips to keep you safe and healthy:
Stay Hydrated: Makkah’s climate can be dehydrating. Carry a reusable water bottle and sip regularly, especially after Tawaf or Sa’i.
Footwear Matters: Bring breathable, supportive sandals for walking between rituals. Avoid brand-new shoes to prevent blisters.
Protect from Heat: Use a sunhat or umbrella and apply sunscreen to avoid sunburn. Consider wearing cooling towels during peak heat.
Rest Is Sunnah Too: Fatigue can compromise your ibadah. Schedule short rest breaks, especially for the elderly and children.
First Aid Kit: Include basics—band-aids, pain relief, antiseptic wipes, and personal meds.
Sanitize Often: Keep a pocket sanitizer and tissues with you. Public touchpoints (like escalators and rails) can carry germs.
A healthy pilgrim can perform more wholeheartedly. Take care of your health, and your ibadah will reflect your energy and gratitude.
